For the purpose of this grant, tourism is defined as a business that boosts the revenues of a local economy by engaging in commerce that draws visitors from outside the immediate area.
Applicants may be from any city but must start a business within the city limits of Chickasha, Oklahoma, that will generate sales tax and provide new jobs.
Applicants must submit to the CEDC a business plan detailing the purpose, function, target audience, budget, projected revenue, and expected impact on tourism of the new business. Additionally, they must indicate the amount they are seeking, and how the funds will be used if approved.
Grants will be awarded based upon the investment costs of the new business. The grants will be for 2% of total investment with a maximum cap of $5,000.
All applications will be reviewed by CEDC staff and considered by the Board of Directors for approval based on the degree to which they align with the criteria and intention of the program. Approval will also be based on available funding and will be on a first come, first serve basis. The CEDC reserves the sole authority to accept or reject applications based on what it views to be in the best interest of the City of Chickasha.
